As library people (and book lovers), we're constantly on the lookout for news, recommendations and (of course) gossip. I'll share with you one of my favorite go-to sites: Northwest Book Lovers.
Not only will you find featured books and authors, but you can visit local independent bookstores (Stanwood's Snow Goose Bookstore was featured a few months back), check out some publisher news blogs, see what super-librarian Nancy Pearl is up to, find out about author events in the area -- and visit one of my favorite sites, Awful Library Books. Just like in your garden, librarians have to regularly 'weed' the bookshelves, getting rid of the books that are too old, too ugly or just plain wrong. Check out the comments too -- some people really get worked up!
