October will be here before you know it, so mark your calendars for Tuesday October 12, when author Jamie Ford speaks at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center in Stanwood at 7 PM. This is our 3rd "Stanwood/Camano: Together We Read" community read event, and we're pretty excited that "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" is this year's book. "Hotel" is a novel set in Seattle during World War II, as Japanese-American citizens are being uprooted from their communities and sent to live in internment camps. It's a love story, a family story -- and even a look at the Seattle jazz scene of the time.
This event is funded by the Stanwood Camano Area Foundation, the Stanwood Camano Friends of the Library, the Camano Island Library Friends, the Washington State Library, and the Sno-Isle Foundation.
