Here we are on the cusp of 2011, thinking of the future, and I wonder, where's the future we were promised? You know, zipping around in flying cars, living on Mars -- the stuff of sci-fi films and World's Fair displays. Not to dismiss the future we live in now, with music coming from devices the size of matchboxes (oops, sorry kids, you're asking "What's a matchbox??") I was looking forward to the meals-in-a capsule we were promised so we didn't have to cook anymore. Now that I think about it, we still hear now and then that this or that vitamin will take care of all our nutritional needs. Doesn't look like food will be replaced anytime soon.
