One Year Old!

Hard for me to believe, but in a few short days, the Camano Island Library will be a year old. Actually, it shouldn't be such a surprise, since I see evidence every day: kids who weren't even crawling when we opened with our first Storytime are now walking, and of course, there are the talkers!
Thank you to the community for being so supportive of this new venture, a 3 year pilot project and an experiment in a new style of library service. We have 2 more years left, and I'm sure those 2 years will zip by too.
Make sure you stop by Saturday the 28th for our big celebration.

Gettin' Buggy Wit It

"Catch the Reading Bug" is our Summer Reading theme this year, and bugs have taken over the branch! There are ants on the floor and crawling up the walls! Things got off to a great start with perfomances by the Brothers from Different Mothers at both Utsalady and Elger Bay schools, and we celebrate our 1 year anniversary in style with a bake sale/book sale from 10-3 on Saturday June 28, with a perfomance by the South End String Band, a visit from a fire engine, a balloon artist and more.
The Teen Summer Reading theme is "Metamorphosis", with cool prizes too. Come into the library for more details -- there's a LOT going on at the Camano Island Library this summer.
Now I just have to talk to somebody about the weather...
